Year-end clean-up!

While cooking some festive meals this week, I managed to clear out a lot of old clutter from both of my desks. Over time, a desk can become a catch-all for everything from reading material to monthly bills or receipts from daily transactions. Eventually, a big cleaning project must be put into effect.

By the end of Christmas day I had successfully tidied things up enough to reveal the handsome wood under all that rubble.

I can not guarantee how long this pristine condition will remain, but I will admit without reservation it looks much nicer after cleaning and organizing.

In addition to the long overdue year end housecleaning I spent time in the kitchen preparing a few nice meals for the holiday season. Cooking for only Mom and myself is a little boring, but holidays are a good time to eat well.

I am going to need to work hard to lose the extra pounds I gained this winter!
